The Author

Harriette HartiganHarriette Hartigan is a photographer, producer, writer and midwife. She has been documenting the childbirth experience since 1975. Her art and teaching reach into emotional, physical and social realms of life on this journey.
 
WHY I CREATED THIS BOOK: As I photographed birth for the first time, I wanted everyone to see what I was seeing.
Beauty. Courage. Strength. Love. Nobility.
Life Coming To Earth Through Woman.
 
Through years of photographing and midwifing, I've been privileged to witness again and again this exquisite work lived so wisely by women, their mates and caregivers…and by newborns knowing how to leave the womb and enter this world. Brought to Earth by Birth is my passion to make this visible to all.
