Yeshi Sherover Neumann

Inspired by the homebirth of her first daughter in 1970, Yeshi Sherover Neumann, CNM, began practicing midwifery in a rural community six hours from the nearest hospital. She became a CNM in 1980, so that she could also provide midwifery care to women without the social, educational or financial resources to give birth at home. As a CNM, Yeshi has practiced in many settings—from high-risk obstetrics to working with traditional birth attendants in the mountains of Nicaragua. She has extensive training in counseling, hypnotherapy, meditation, yoga and Rosen Method Body work and is the co-founder and Director of The Women's National Leadership Project and the Multicultural Alliance Project. Yeshi is the facilitator of the Healing Task Force and recently began a hospital practice called Homestyle Midwifery.
